Lunchtime tracking

The video camera mounted far above a shared corridor records ‘dots’ that move like humans as they negotiate their way through the busy space.

The top-down viewpoint used represents the optimal vantage point from which to observe horizontal movement. The white dot is used to place focus on the movement of the subject and to abstract their humanness. In doing so, it opens up an imaginative space for me to create back-stories that explain their subtle changes in trajectory, their hesitations or their determined marching ahead towards unknown destinations.
